District III serves east/southeast Harris County from
headquarters at 14350 Wallisville Road, with a storefront
at 610 South Main in Highlands.
Expansion of the Wallisville Substation began in 2002. The
expansion nearly doubled the size of the office space, making
room for our patrol and administrative staff members.
The Citizens Police Academy Alumni are very active in
supporting our deputies. The Alumni members helped support
the 100 Clubs Open House at the new jail, the International
Homicide Convention, the Highlands Jamboree Parade, Captain
Haleys Fundraiser/Benefit, the Christmas Adopt a Family
Program and their own Annual Benefit. The Alumni also supported
CPA Class #17, which began in October 2003.
The districts media relations program took a firm root
in 2002. The program provides a continuous flow of newsworthy
information to the media. Eighteen newspapers throughout the
district have benefited from the stories and photographs submitted.
Weekly articles, which include hard news stories, community
advisories and human-interest stories, have made their way
into print on a regular basis. This enhances the image of
the Sheriffs Office within our community by providing
valuable news and information.
District Three recorded 105,615 calls for service during the
year. Of the 5,448 arrests made, 1,190 were felonies.
