Expansion of the Wallisville Substation began in 2002. The expansion nearly doubled the size of the office space, making room for our patrol and administrative staff members.

The Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni are very active in supporting our deputies. The Alumni members helped support the 100 Club’s Open House at the new jail, the International Homicide Convention, the Highlands Jamboree Parade, Captain Haley’s Fundraiser/Benefit, the Christmas Adopt a Family Program and their own Annual Benefit. The Alumni also supported CPA Class #17, which began in October 2003.

The district’s media relations program took a firm root in 2002. The program provides a continuous flow of newsworthy information to the media. Eighteen newspapers throughout the district have benefited from the stories and photographs submitted. Weekly articles, which include hard news stories, community advisories and human-interest stories, have made their way into print on a regular basis. This enhances the image of the Sheriff’s Office within our community by providing valuable news and information.

District Three recorded 105,615 calls for service during the year. Of the 5,448 arrests made, 1,190 were felonies.
