MISSION STATEMENT

The Harris County Sheriff' s Department is unequivocally committed to the concept of service to our community. Crime Prevention

As all major cities experience unprecedented growth, it has become a challenge for police agencies to fulfill their commitments. Improving the quality of life for the citizens of Harris County, Texas is a primary goal of this Department. Crime prevention education is essential, and by taking a proactive stance to develop an informed citizenry, we can meet this challenge.


PROGRAMS

You may request a program by contacting the Crime Prevention Office and providing some information about what your organization or community would like to have as a topic. All requests require at least two weeks notice prior to the date that you would like to have a deputy come to your community. All programs are conducted by a deputy who is a certified Crime Prevention Specialists.

In addition to the Crime Prevention Unit, each of the four Harris County Sheriff's Departments Patrol Districts has developed a storefront.

Within these storefronts, there are programs for both children and adults.
