The Central Records Division is a specialized and very important operation within the Sheriff’s Office. The Central Records Division is responsible for processing, maintaining, transferring, and generating the release of inmates throughout the jail system. Not only the Sheriff’s Office, but the District Clerk’s Office, the Courts, and a host of law enforcement agencies in and around Harris County heavily rely on the daily operations of the Central Records Division.
