Sheriff Tommy Thomas Reports Arrest in Northwest Harris County

On October 7, 2008, Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies N. Parajcic and C. Wells were dispatched to a major accident in the 21600 block of Tomball Parkway were a vehicle was reported to have rolled several times. Upon their arrival they were met by witnesses who stated the driver of a white Ford Mustang was traveling at a high rate of speed and was weaving in and out of traffic. The driver of the Mustang then lost control and struck a Chevrolet truck causing it to roll several times. The driver of the Mustang, identified as Raul Aguilar, 19-years-old of Pinehurst was arrested and charged with Reckless Driving. He was later released on a $500.00 bond awaiting his next court appearance on October 23, 2008.

On October 10, 2008, Deputy A. Ortiz was flagged down at the Randall’s gas station located at 12200 Barker Cypress in reference to a minor accident. While proceeding to the location of the accident, the driver of the striking vehicle flagged the deputy down and informed him he was at fault. A routine computer check revealed the driver, identified as 43-year-old John Miller of Cypress had an open felony warrant for Theft out of Montgomery County and two open traffic warrants out of Humble. Miller was arrested for the warrants and transported to the Harris County Inmate Processing Center were he was later released on a $2,500.00 bond.

On October 10, 2008, Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies T. Lathan and J. Klafka were dispatched to a weapons disturbance at 18400 block of K Z Road. Upon their arrival they met with 45-year-old Heather Schmidt of Cypress who stated her neighbor was shooting a pistol in the air and waiving the weapon at her. After speaking with several witnesses they were able to determine there were no shots fired and there was never a gun present. Ms. Schmidt was questioned further about the report and she admitted to giving a false report to the 911 operator. Heather Schmidt was arrested and charged with False Report to Law Enforcement. She has since been released on a $1,000.00 bond awaiting her next court appearance.
