On October 21, Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy M. Thomas was investigating a reported suspicious vehicle in the 20200 block of the Katy Freeway. Upon arrival, he was stopped by an employee of the Avenue department store. The employee told the deputy that a male suspect walked into the store, grabbed clothing off of a rack and ran to a waiting vehicle. Deputy Thomas was able to locate the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Zackery Peterson, and recover the merchandise valued at $416.56. Peterson was charged with Theft and taken to the Harris County Jail where he remains without bond.
