Man Blames Faulty Brakes for Not Stopping

9/4/2009

August 26, 2009
While on patrol, Deputy Niesporek and Deputy Robbenolt attempted to stop a white Jaguar with California plates on East FM 1960 for traffic infractions. The driver refused to stop and reached speeds in excess of 80 mph after turning onto Atascocita Shores. After running several stop signs, the vehicle finally came to a rest after striking a tree in the front yard of a home in the 8200 block of Magnolia Glen. The driver was identified as 34-year-old Williams Peterson. Mr. Peterson was charged with evading with a motor vehicle. It was later learned that a passenger in the vehicle resided at the home of the crash. After Mr. Peterson was checked by EMS personnel, he was cleared to be transported to jail. Mr. Peterson alleges that faulty brakes are to blame for him not stopping.
