Expired Registration Sticker Leads to Arrest

9/29/2009

On September 29, 2009, Deputy L. Ditta initiated a traffic stop in the 4750 block of West F.M. 1960 for an expired vehicle registration sticker. The driver, identified as 39-year-old Esther Cohill, was unable to provide a Texas Drivers License and proof of insurance. She was removed from the vehicle and handcuffed. As Cohill exited the vehicle, Deputy Ditta found a white substance that tested positive for crack cocaine. Esther Cohill was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance. She pled guilty to the charge and was sentenced to three years Deferred Adjudication and fined $300.
